Chaz Holt

Chaz Holt is a seventh-generation farmer from northern Georgia who is the precision agriculture and conservation specialist in the Southeast for the Quail Forever and Cotton Inc. partnership. He is married and raising his three children on the family’s farm. He lived and worked in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and in the Rocky Mountain region for 18 years. Chaz earned his bachelor’s in agriculture sciences from University of Wyoming and his master’s in agroecology from Montana State University’s Department of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences. He is a Certified Crop Advisor with the American Society of Agronomy. 

Chaz has worked for more than 20 years in community food, fuel and fiber systems, in addition to owning and operating his own certified organic and regenerative vegetable and beef farm. He is a consultant for Emory University, serving as the farmer liaison developing regionally sourced foods. He served as southern Montana’s agriculture innovations coordinator for Beartooth Resource, Conservation, and Development Area Inc.; managed the practicum farm for Montana State University’s Sustainable Foods and Bioenergy Systems program; and has worked for both Agrium and Simplot.
