Emily Johannes is Senior Vice President for Trust in Food™ at Farm Journal. She leads influence and engagement with farmers and ranchers across food, environmental advocacy, technology, and carbon/regenerative agriculture programs.
Emily has a background in ecology and climate science, previously serving as the Climate Lead for Nestlé North America. In addition, she led Nestlé’s Sustainable Sourcing and Recycling Programs in the U.S., where she led projects with suppliers, farmers, non-governmental organizations, and stakeholders on topics of climate action, animal welfare, packing sustainability, and social responsibility.
Her career has spanned over 23 years implementing environmental/sustainability strategies, measuring and reporting metrics, driving responsible sourcing programs, and developing verification schemes.
Emily received her Masters of Science in Ecology from the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA) and her Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Miami University (Oxford, OH). She is currently pursuing post-graduate education in Food Marketing from St. Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, PA).
