Lenexa, Kan.,– Farm Journal’s Trust In Food™ is proud to welcome Tyson Foods to Trust In Beef, a collaborative value chain program designed to help ranchers integrate climate-smart agriculture into their operations while sharing their learnings and success stories.

Trust In Food is a purpose-driven division of Farm Journal that organizes Trust In Beef in partnership with Drovers and foundational partners Merck Animal Health, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Syngenta/Enogen and U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.

“We are excited to be recognized as a Trust In Beef foundational partner,” said Justin Ransom, senior director, sustainable food strategy at Tyson Foods. “Building a coalition of conservation-minded partners across the value chain is critical for our industry and we are thankful for the work Trust In Beef has done as we collaborate to build a more sustainable food system.”

During the 2023 Annual Meat Conference, Tyson Foods took a major first step toward fulfilling its GHG emissions reduction goals by unveiling BrazenTM Beef, a first-of-its-kind climate friendly* beef brand. Brazen Beef is the first beef brand that has received USDA approval for a “climate friendly” beef claim by demonstrating a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from pasture to production as compared to conventional cattle. Brazen Beef is produced as part of Tyson’s Climate-Smart Beef Program, developed to make it possible to estimate and analyze emissions from beef production and implement practices that have data-driven results.

“Tyson Foods’ commitment to sustainability and regenerative agriculture is evidenced at every level of their organization,” said Amy Skoczlas Cole, president, Trust In Food. “Their addition to the growing Trust In Beef coalition will be a tremendous asset as we continue our efforts to support beef’s upward sustainability trajectory.”

Trust In Beef provides technical resources, data, analysis and support to help empower beef producers to understand, value and implement conservation practices while also connecting consumers to the industry’s accomplishments in climate-smart production. Foundational partners including Tyson Foods serve as technical advisors to those efforts.
